Wow it's been a while. I actually just read the Hydrick's blog and made me think how I needed to update ours.
Well Kendall is now 2 years old and a pistol! We had her birthday party at the Children's Museum in Memphis. She had a ball. Mommy was worn out but it was worth it.

Kendall and her Dysphagia...still got it! She still has to drink everything as thick as honey but she is doing fine. She doesn't know any better. We hope that when she is 3 we can start her on speech therapy so that she can relearn how to swallow.
She is going to stay with Grandmary and Bumpy (use to be Grumpy) this weekend so that Chris and I can go see Jersey Boys.

Chris update
Chris is working with Jamie on a new project. He is going to Texas on Thursday with Jamie for business...hope all works out. I'll find out Saturday.

Me update
Just still around:)

I have to promise myself that I am going to update this more often!

Kendall and the hospital

So, as stated before...Kendall has to have Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) every 6 to 12 months so we can see if her swallowing is correcting itself. We have to thicken everything she drinks so that it's as thick as honey...well....let me tell you, she LOVES water and anything else she can get her hands on that doesn't have thickener in it. She can have a couple of sips but we have to be careful because it gets into her lungs, even with that little sip.
We went to have a MBS on Friday, March 13th, and they at least said she was consistent. She was so good getting it done and didn't complain a bit. The Speech Therapist stated that she hopes she grows out of this but she might not...she really let the air out of my balloon:( Well she is a strong, healthy girl that has a little obstacle...we will get through it.

Sick

Kendall has been sick the last couple of days and Daddy stayed home with her yesterday. He took her to the doctor and here is what he said happened.
When she was in the waiting room she pointed at a painting on the wall and Daddy said "painting" and she said...paaininging...basically painting. Well this little girl about 8 or 9 was sitting with her mom next to them and said, "mom that baby just said painting. How old was I when I first said painting." The mom said...not that young in a funny tone....the little girl just pouted...now that sounds like I am making fun of them but Chris said it was really cute. Daddy also said that she greeted everyone with a HI when they came into the office....my little socialite!
They then proceeded to the back where the nurse needed to take her temperature. She lifted Kendall's arm and at that moment her lip went out and she started to cry and had big elephant tears running down her face. When she finished, any of you that have been around Kendall knows that she can be very dramatic...she drooped her head down on Daddy's shoulder and cried for a second...then of course sat up and smiled and said HI!
When the doctor came in she just carried on her little conversation in "Kendall" talk to the doctor...now before you ask...yes she is fine...just a little cough.
Chris called me as soon as they left the office and said that he will NEVER take her for shots because of how she was with just the thermometer and that it about broke his heart. I told him he is out of luck! I took her the first 14 months of her life and it broke my heart everytime now it's his turn!
Oh and one more thing! she is 21.4 lbs!

The park

Well Daddy and I took Kendall to the park yesterday. She seemed to have so much fun. We found that she loves to slide on the slide, wether it is on her backside, stomach or head first...she LOVES IT! She loves to walk everywhere but does not like to "touch" the grass. See the following picture!
Daddy went to the store and bought Kendall a chocolate chip icecream sandwich. It was like she found heaven. And I think Daddy found heaven too, looking at his little girl.
Well we got home last night and I wish everyone could have seen it! Kendall decided that she should pull her daddy's hair so Daddy pulled Kendall's back. If you could have seen him leaning forward because Kendall had a handful of hair and Kendall's head leaning backward because Chris had her hair (FYI...no one was hurt during the filming of this segment of our life) hee hee.

Going to Georgia

Well we went to Georgia last weekend to see Kendall's Nonna and Opa.
Well we have to start with the flight. Kendall and I got very lucky and got the last row all to ourselves. The flight attendant was so nice and then it happened. The flight attendant needed to get her bag down and we were sitting in a three seat row. I was next to the window and Kendall was minding her own business in the middle seat. We both looked up to see the flight attendant pulling out her bag. Well I bet you can guess what happened next....the bag fell on Kendall's hand! The flight attendant said "oh did I scare her." I was in total shock but I she is fine so I didn't have to ring her neck! She cried for about 10 minutes and I explained to all around that it was the flight attendants fault:).
Kendall seemed to have a blast in Georgia and probably would have stayed longer if I would have let her. I think she liked that her Nonna (my mother) and her Opa (my father) told me "NO" and her "YES".
Well it seems that my mom and I learned something this weekend. We learned that Kendall has a slippery backside. Okay so maybe we should have been paying a little more attention to her...but it happened sooo fast. Well she was in the bath having a good ole time and then BAM!!! her butt slipped and she went under...she looked up at us from under the water...with the look of "HELLO AREN'T YOU SUPPOSE TO GET ME OUT!" My mom and I were so shocked it took about 2 seconds to get her out, but it felt like an hour. On a positive note...she had a stopped up nose before this...you notice I said before this:)
Oh and she tried steak for the first time! I knew she was my child right then! SHE LOVES IT!

A Year

I can't believe it. It has been 13 months since we have had our little bundle of joy. Kendall is getting so big and we love her more and more each day. She is now walking and is so independent. She loves her daddy and is definitely a Daddy's Girl.
